The whole back office, one team, one fee.
Most small businesses run a patchwork: a bookkeeper, a payroll app, tax software, an accountant in April — four handoffs where things fall through. We replace the patchwork: books, tax, payroll and year-end, one Ottawa team, one fixed monthly fee.
What’s included
This is the package most clients run on — the whole function, not a menu of add-ons.
The books, kept monthly
Categorized, reconciled, closed every month — so every other service on this list runs on numbers that are actually true.
Corporate and personal tax together
T2 for the company, T1s for the owners, planned as one position by one team — salary, dividends and timing decided on your numbers.
GST/HST watched all year
Registered at the right moment, tracked as you invoice, filed on time and reconciled to the books — never estimated off the bank balance.
Payroll, remitted on time
Runs processed, source deductions remitted to the CRA's calendar, T4s at year-end — treated as the trust money it legally is.
Year-end without the scramble
Because the months closed as they happened, year-end is a review, not an archaeology project — statements, adjustments, and returns from books already current.
Someone to call, without a meter
Questions answered when you have them. Calls and emails are never billable, which means you'll actually ask in September what would have cost real money to discover in April.
What the patchwork actually costs
Four vendors means four bills — but the real cost is the gaps between them: the bookkeeper who doesn’t know a filing is due, the payroll app that never reconciles to the books, the April accountant meeting your year for the first time in February. Every specific service on this page exists on its own — bookkeeping, corporate tax, payroll, catch-up — but the reason clients stay is what happens when they stop being separate purchases and become one system with one team inside it.
How it starts
A 20-minute conversation
Free, and genuinely 20 minutes: your volume, your entities, the state of the books. If we are not the right fit, we say so and point you somewhere.
A fixed fee, in writing
One number for the year, agreed before any work starts. Software, setup and onboarding are part of it — there is no second bill from anyone else.
We take it from there
Our team builds your books on our platform, catches up whatever is behind, and runs the monthly close. You watch it happen in the same system we work in.
Asked by small businesses
What size of business do you work with?
Incorporated owner-operators through established companies with staff — the common thread is a business that needs its whole back office handled, not a single form filed. If a one-slip personal return is all you need, we'll say software is cheaper and mean it.
How does switching accountants actually work?
You say yes; we do the rest. We collect what exists — QuickBooks file, spreadsheets, your prior year-end — migrate your history onto our platform, tie the balances to the day you switch, and pick up the filing calendar. Your old firm is owed a thank-you, not a project plan. Cleanest right after a year-end, workable any month.
What does an accountant cost for a small business in Ottawa?
The honest answer anywhere is 'it depends on volume, entities and the state of the books' — which is why we quote a fixed monthly fee up front instead of an hourly rate that makes the year unknowable. One number, agreed before we start, with software, setup, calls and filings inside it.
Do you only work with Ottawa businesses?
Ottawa is home — the office is at 1 Rideau Street — and we serve clients across Canada remotely on the same platform. Documents, books and meetings all move the same way either way; the fixed fee doesn't change with your postal code.
Ready to put your
business on autopilot?
Twenty minutes, no charge. We will look at how your books are kept today and tell you exactly what we would do differently — and that advice is yours to keep, whether you hire us or not.
